For example, some small businesses offer breakfast even though they are a burger joint. Others include rotisserie chicken when their specialty is Mexican food! These options are great because they utilize careful craft and constantly change.

Small businesses have the freedom to try new things. They also take time to read your reviews on websites such as Yelp, Facebook, Google and Yellow Pages; and then they adjust accordingly to your comments. Small businesses will even take the time to respond to your review. This is beneficial in customer service as it is more personal and noteworthy.

If you have ever had any doubts about the importance of small businesses to our economy, look at the following statistics from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Small business firms:

• Make up more than 99.7 percent of all employers
• Create more than 50 percent of the non-farm private gross domestic product (GDP)
• Make up 97 percent of exporters and producer 29 percent of all export value

In addition, it is the small business engine that is turning our economy around putting our country back to work. Latest figures from the SBA show that small businesses create 75 percent of new jobs in our economy. Therefore, this created more than 15 million new jobs between 1993 and 2009. Half of all private sector employees are employed by small businesses. Also, they hire 43 percent of high tech workers (scientists, engineers, computer programmers and others).

Small Businesses Bring Competition, Inventive Ideas and New Creations

Without first starting as a competitive small business, large corporations would not be where they are today.

Small businesses dedicate large sums of time, labor and commitment to see their companies flourish into big businesses.
