Atlas Project Introduces Lake Walk Town Center Near Texas A&M

The Atlas master-planned community is introducing a new brand. This pedestrian friendly town center is being built at the epicenter of the Texas A&M Biocorridor of Bryan/College Station. Lake Walk is the new identity for the town center. It will feature lifestyle and outdoor pursuits as well as exciting employment opportunities. About the New Lake Walk Town Center Near Texas A&M

The 5-acre Lake Atlas will anchor the 180,000 square-foot development. The pedestrian-friendly, wellness-focused Lake Walk Town Center will offer an upscale reprieve from the hustle-and-bustle of student-focused retail, restaurant and housing dominating the Brazos Valley. The 176-room Stella Hotel and The MatureWell Lifestyle Center for seniors are under construction in Lake Walk. Construction has just begun on a park, a pavilion and an observation tower. There is already plans for both retail and restaurant spaces.

Inspiration for Lake Walk came from the tree rings and the environmental and architectural elements of the town center. It incorporates the “A-Trail” — a linear trail system of over two miles of parks, trails, ponds, Lake Atlas and wellness amenities emphasizing a healthy lifestyle.

The word ‘Lake’ epitomizes the natural surroundings at Atlas, while the tree rings connect the ‘Walk’ and architectural elements in the town center, according to Spencer Clements, Principal of ATLAS and Traditions Development. The Lake Walk ties with nature to distinguish the town center and Atlas as exceptional places to live, work and play.

New Lake Walk Town Center Features

The Stella Hotel plans to open in the spring of 2017. It will have the following:

• a restaurant and bar offering alfresco dining
• two swimming pools
• an outdoor bar
• a fitness room
• 10,000 feet of meeting space adjacent backyard event space

Based in Bryan, Texas, Stafford Barrett Commercial Services is providing leasing services at the Lake Walk Town Center in partnership with Transwestern.

Location of The Atlas Project

The Atlas project is a 200-acre community which is located next to the Texas A&M Health Science Center and is two miles from Texas A&M University. It is an extension of the neighboring Traditions Club and Community, which is home to the Texas A&M golf teams.

There was recent purchase of a site at Atlas for a new facility by ViaSat, a global broadband services and technology firm.
